Considering the status enjoyed by Cadillac during that period, that's quite a feat. Cadillac was the usual rival to Nash, Rambler, and AMC, for features, comfort, and retention of value. That's the foundation comparison between the two firms.
Chevy, Ford and Plymouth were their competitors on price only. That's why Cadillac is mentioned so often in the Nash, Rambler, and AMC ads. To point out that they offered Cadillac quality at Chevrolet price.
