Car Show

Announcing the dates for the 2011 Las Vegas AMC Reunion. The show will be held on November 4-5 at the Railroad Pass Hotel & Casino (www.railroadpass.com).

We're planning a great tour on Friday followed by our now famous BBQ at Veteran's Memorial Park. The car show and swap meet is on Saturday.

Railroad Pass is an outstanding venue for the show.We have a large and secure show field. They also offer great room rates, hospitality room for show attendees, excellent security, dining area set aside for us in the buffet on Saturday evening, use of private room for Sunday morning breakfast, tremendous cooperation from hotel staff and more.

If you're into history, you'll definitely want to make the tour on Friday, Nov. 4th. We're going to Eldorado Canyon/Techatticup Mine Tour. This guided above and below ground mining tour will take you into the mine and the history of the oldest and most famous gold mine in Southern Nevada. This tour will consist of a walking tour of the old Techatticup Millsite. This is where the ore was brought out of the mine to the stampmill, crushed to a powder and mixed in cyanide tanks where the gold & silver were separated. We'll then proceed into the Savage Mine some 500 feet where you will view up and down stopes and actually see the veins they chased. This mine was once owned by Senator George Hearst and was claim jumped in 1874 which resulted in numerous murders. The air temperature in the mine is a cool comfortable 70 degrees year round. The cost of the tour is $10 per person, payable at time of tour. We will be leaving from Railroad Pass at 12:30 sharp. Following the tour is our now famous BBQ at Veteran's Memorial Park. Once again your host and chef will be Andy Ray. We guarantee you won't be disappointed! Registration will take place in the banquet room around 7PM. If we can get the hotel A/V equipment working, we hope to show AMC related DVD's during registration Friday evening.

The itinerary for Saturday is the same as last year. The show field (upper parking lot like last year)will open at 7AM for set-up and registration. The show and swap meet will open at 9AM and close at 3PM. The awards presentation will start at 4PM in the banquet room followed by dinner at the Boxcar Buffet. If there is enough interest, we'll conclude the weekend with the breakfast buffet on Sunday morning at 8AM.

DJ Joe will be back providing great music, running the raffle and making announcements. As always, the $30 registration fee includes an event t-shirt (this years shirt will be AWESOME!). You'll also receive a dash plaque and great goodie bag.

If you want more details or a registration from, please visit our website (www.snamc.amcrc.com) or contact me (e-mail: chicago0516@yahoo.com; phone: 702-985-7647).
