Beckley and Oak Hill Here is picutres of a couple of dealers in my area

This was Earehart Motors they started in 59 in Beckley
This is to the right of the buidling and is the service entrance and parking and my 83 SX/4
They were in this building until the end of AMC and became Dodge Jeep until Feb 25 2006 when they quit the business
This is Oak Hill and was Stien-Miller AMC/JEEP PONTIAC BUICK GMC unitl AMC was sold.  The interesting thing only AMC and now Chrysler names are on the building.  Gm is not allowed on the building

I have a couple of metal dealer badges from Earehart's AMC Jeep. Its nice to see the dealership building!!

I have one from Mitchener Chev-Olds AMC Jeep too. I'm not sure where that dealer was located.

Mitchener was located on 460 just before the textile plant in Narrows, VA.  Now its the power or telephone company building I forget which one been years since I went that way.

The Lewis dealership closed on Monday 1 JUN.  The employees showed up for work but the dealership was locked and not opened.  They were notified by Chrysler they had lost the Jeep franchise.  A month later they learned the GM (BUICK-PONTIAC-GMC TRUCK) would not be renewed.  Lewis had been a GM dealer 79 years.  They were also notified that the Chevy Cad franchise in Beckly will not be renewed.  They still have NISSAN.  Chrysler cut ties with 17 of 24 dealers in WV.

The Lewis building was build in 1949 and was a Hudson dealership until about two years leater when Sydnor purchased the place and brought in Studebaker.  The back part with the curved roof was part of the orignal building.  The place has had various owners over the years.  I worked there 4 years under 3 different owners.

It's outrageous to me what the gov't has done to these dealers.  The dealerships don't cost money to the automakers, they pay for their inventory in cash.
