1903- Ford Motor Company Rebuttal to ALAM

Henry Ford responded to the patent suit by the Association of Licensed Automobile Manufacturers (ALAM) by guaranteeing dealers that Ford Motor Company would assist them in court if sued by the ALAM for patent infringement. Thomas B. Jeffery, founder of Rambler, bankrolled Henry Ford in this lawsuit, which eventually prevailed in Ford's favor in 1911. This suit opened the market in automobile manufacturing to all comers.
